History of the brand

• 1876: The company that would becomeChantelle was founded at the end of the 19th century as a manufacturer of elastic fabrics.
• The 1900s: at that time, women's figures are still firmly bound in dresses with a train. Maurice Kretz, nephew of François Auguste Gamichon, begins to manufacture corsets made of elastic fabrics in 1902.
• The 1940s: Claude Kretz, who joined his father in the company, uses the "tul Kretz" to manufacturethe first sashes. The brand name Chantelle is used for the first time in 1949.
• The 1960s: on the eve of ready-to-wear, Chantelle launches its first bras under the impetus of Claude Kretz. In 1962, Chantelle opened its first bra manufacturing plant in Epernay, in the Champagne region.
• Today Chantelle stands out for its lines based on technologies that offer freedom of movement and comfort, such as working with Spacer and Memory Foam foam fabrics.
